Now that the overlays are printed & ready it should be your duty to immediately make them obsolete 😉

I’d suggest the following commonly used (by me…) settings to get their own buttons:

    – Macro controls for +/- on gain and bias for R, G & B at once
    – 480p DTV/VESA toggle
    – YPbPr Rec. 601 / 709 toggle

I’d definitely like to see a 480p DTV/VESA toggle, but couldn’t Rec. 601 and 709 simply be applied automatically depending on resolution of YPbPr sources?

That’s what I was also thinking, but then why is it not done this way? I figured there must be a reason there is no ‘Auto’ setting. Never quite sure what the correct setting is. For instance, is a PS2 outputting in 480p or 1080i 709? What about an xbox, is it 601 on 480i and 709 in 720p? Confusing 😉

I couldn’t tell you why the OSSC doesn’t have an auto setting for this, but, per Fudoh on the shmups forum, it’s straightforward:

Remember that rec.601 (input and outputwise) is used for 240p, 480i and 480p, while .709 is used for 720p, 1080i and 1080p.

If Fudoh says so I believe him 😉

Now I really want to compare PS2 GT4 in 480p vs 1080i and XB SC2 in 480p vs 720p and see if the colors look different if I leave the OSSC on the same color space. Too bad I don’t have a capture device :/

There should probably be an Auto setting on the OSSC then…
