So I bought my DIY barebones kit and forgot to order a remote.

How do I go about sourcing and programming a remote myself? I live in Australia and I will most likely finish construction of my OSSC this week so don’t want to have to wait for shipping from the UK.

Finding a remote locally shouldn’t be hard, but I have zero clues as far a programming one.

You need any remote compatible with the NEC IR protocol. Many off the shelf learning remotes have pre-programmed sets of codes, if any of those match NEC IR protocol you should be good to go.

If you have a more sophisticated learning remote like a Logitech Harmony or Philips Pronto (or ProntoHEX compatible), there’s instructions and downloads here:- http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/OSSC#Remote_control_setup
