The original Xbox console was a great machine but it had a number of design flaws. First of all there’s a capacitor on most models of Xbox that was used as a backup battery for storing the date and time. This capacitor almost always starts to leak and since it leaks corrosive acid it can damage your Xbox motherboard. There’s more information on this fault here.

Secondly, the thermal paste that Microsoft used on the Xbox is not regarded as being too great. As part of this service our technician will remove the heatsinks and apply fresh new thermal compound. This ensures optimum cooling for your classic console and will prolong its life.

Hi, if I send my Xbox in can you also fix the issue where the disc tray won’t open when the eject button is pressed? May just need a new belt but I’m not sure.

Yep, pop a note in with the console explaining the issue and our technician will look into it and quote you for the repair if necessary.
