The SNES Super CIC mod is the best way to modify your SNES or Super Famicom console to play all region games. You can change the consoles region by holding the reset button or, with our very latest SuperCIC boards, by using a button combination on the SNES controller. You can also switch between 50Hz, 60Hz, or auto-detect mode, allowing you to play compatible PAL software at 60hz, or at the speed originally intended. This mod has 100% compatibility with import games, even those with more sophisticated lock-out technologies. If you’re sending in a US SNES we can also remove the internal plastic lugs that prevent PAL and Japanese cartridges from inserting (playing American games on European or Japanese consoles will also require an adapter or for the cartridge slot to be physically widened).

Unlike our competitors we use only the very latest, high quality SuperCIC boards in both our 1 chip and multi-chip installations. There is no better or more reliable SuperCIC mod than this on the market. Enjoy a true, region free SNES console!

Note:- We strongly recommend playing your SNES console using an RGB cable. On some televisions, import games may appear in black and white when using composite or S-Video connections.

Due to minuscule differences in video timings between PAL and NTSC consoles, users connecting modified PAL consoles to HDTVs (either directly or via an upscaler such as an XRGB) may experience stuttering/juddering during scrolling in games when playing in 60hz. This is not a fault with our modding process (we’re just the only website honest enough to tell you it could happen). This does not affect CRT users, see this page for more information. Since the SuperCIC board for the Super Famicom Junior/1-chip consoles includes a replacement clock crystal, this mod is NOT affected by the scroll stutter issue.

We can fit this upgrade to the original SNES or the later revision, so-called “1-chip” SNES/Super Famicom consoles. 1 Chip consoles are later model consoles and all Super Famicom Junior and SNES Mini consoles. While all Junior/Mini SNES consoles are 1-chip (that we are aware of), most of the original design SNES/Super Famicom consoles are multi-chip. If you are unsure if you have a 1 chip or multi-chip console, order the cheaper mod and we’ll contact you if we find your console is a 1-chip.
